President - Esther Ledesma
Esther was born and raised in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. She obtained a scholarship and attended the Technological Institute of Santo Domingo to get a B.S. in Industrial Design. She also obtained an M.S. in New Product Development from Rochester Institute of Technology in New York.
She has held positions of Engineering and New Product Development of residential and industrial products for Power Management in the Electrical Sector at Eaton Corporation across several locations within the United States and Dominican Republic. She currently works as a Senior Design Engineer for residential products for the Electrical Sector at Eaton. Her focus has been the development and industrialization of innovative and reliable products from the concept through the mass production.
She has been involved in SHPE with the professional Chapter in Pittsburgh. She currently participates as a Mentor in the Collegiate Leadership Mentoring program for the Society of Women Engineers and holds a leadership position at both Women and Hispanic and Latino Employee Resource Group at Eaton. She enjoys volunteering and supporting local organizations as the Event Coordinator for the United Way Day of Caring with the Pauline Auberle Foundation at Eaton. In addition, she also participates in activities and initiatives to motivate and incentivate young girls interests in STEM careers. In her free time she practices crossfit, biking, cooking and traveling.
Vice President / Treasurer - Frankie Delgado
Frankie was born and raised in NY to Dominican parents. He received his Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineer from Stony Brook University in 2011. After graduating, he entered Verizon's three-year Leadership Development Program where he moved around the country performing different jobs such as Project Management, Radio Frequency Design Engineering, and Network Operations Management. Currently, Frankie has been living in Pittsburgh for the past two and a half years working as a Sr. Operations Manager, managing Verizon's cellular network and leading a team of 12.
Frankie is also currently working on his Master of Science in Engineering Management at Stevens Institute of Technology. He enjoys traveling all over the world with his wife, playing his trombone in salsa bands, and spending time with his Boxer dog, Ace.
Social Media - Heidi Lagares-Greenblatt
Heidi holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Puerto Rico and a Masters in Information System Management from Marist College, NY. Her collegiate experience and extracurricular activities brought her to the USA about 15+ years ago (US citizen).
Currently, Heidi is the Program Manager for Material Development at the Research and Technology Center of United States Steel. She is responsible for creating and managing the stage gate process within the Research group for their material development. In Heidi's previous professional role, she worked as the Lead Program Manager responsible for coordinating New Technology Programs for IBM zSystems while ensuring client success. Heidi was responsible for coordinating development, test, the brand, legal, marketing and sales team to introduce the new systems and solutions to IBM clients in real world environments prior to general availability
Heidi enjoys traveling, board games, all the Pittsburgh sports team, and outdoor activities. Heidi lives South of Pittsburgh with her husband, two little girls (7 and 2 years old respectively) and her 2 dogs. Heidi's fun fact 1: she has run 3 full marathons and countless half marathons. Heidi's fun fact 2: she has a bronze medal from the Puerto Rico National Basketball team under 13 (National Mini League).
K-12 & College Relations - Daphne Belén-Cordero
Daphne holds a PhD in chemical engineering. She is a licensed professional engineer that works at the Naval Nuclear Laboratory as a Senior Engineer. She is a member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE), American Chemical Society (ACS), and The Minerals, Metals, and Materials Society (TMS). Daphne is also a member of Society of Women Engineers (SWE), Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE), and National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE).
She enjoys her career as an engineer as well as supporting STEM outreach activities. She is from Puerto Rico and currently lives in Squirrel Hill with her 13 years old daughter, Anjali, her four dogs, and a hamster.
